The order lifecycle

A guided state machine from sample to report

Each order moves through clear, timestamped states — the portal only ever exposes the one valid next action, so technicians can’t skip a step. Every transition is recorded with the actor and time.

Pending receipt → accept

New orders arrive with a confirmation countdown; the center accepts (or rejects with a reason) before the deadline expires.

Sample received → verified

The lab marks the sample physically received, then verifies its quality is fit for processing.

Processing → QC

Analysis runs; results pass a quality-control checkpoint before they’re considered ready.

Report ready → uploaded → delivered

The technician uploads the report document; it becomes available to the patient and the order completes.
