The logic that prevents stockouts

Thresholds and workflows turn raw stock data into proactive action — before a phlebotomist runs out mid-shift.

Rule	How it works
Reorder threshold	Warehouse stock at or below an item’s reorder point is flagged for replenishment automatically.
Low-stock alerts	A sweep every 6 hours notifies field staff via SMS, WhatsApp and push when their kit stock runs low.
Reorder forecasting	Suggested reorder quantity is derived from recent consumption trends, not just a fixed number.
Allocation = double-entry	Allocating stock deducts the warehouse and credits the phlebo, both written as matching ledger transactions.
Auto-consumption	Completing a collection job consumes the mapped kit items from the phlebo’s stock automatically.
PO approval workflow	Draft → pending → approved → paid → delivered, with stock landing in the warehouse on delivery.
Kit mapping	Each test/package maps to the consumables it needs, so the system knows what every job will draw down.
